Mutant egg

I opened the nesting box this morning and found one single egg, and a very large one at that. (I can't even close the egg box its that big!) I'm not sure which hen laid it but the poor thing must be in shock.
(turns out it was a double yolker - and a yummy one!)

  1. Hi Shane, wow, it's amazing how these girls lay these mutant eggs sometimes. We have three ex-battery hens and only one of them lays any more, but finding the one solitary egg each day, still feels like finding treasure in the garden!
